The Lightr mobile app is published by Mickael Alias, as an individual. It is currently distributed as a personal and independent project.
Lightr is a free mobile application designed to promote meaningful human connections by allowing users to send private, kind, and positive messages (called “Lightrs”) to people they care about. All interactions are strictly private and not intended for public sharing or broadcasting.
By accessing or using the Lightr app, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to all of the terms, please do not use the app.
These Terms may be updated at any time. If major changes are made, users will be informed through the app or via email. Continued use after the update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
The Lightr app is intended for individuals aged 13 years and older.
Users under 13 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian.
Account creation is required to use the main features of the app.
You agree to provide accurate, up-to-date personal information.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
The publisher reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these Terms.
Lightr provides the following features:
Sending personal and private messages (“Lightrs”) to selected contacts
Receiving and reading Lightrs sent to you
Adding reactions (emoji) or photos to messages
Building a private “Wall” of the messages received
Receiving optional daily push notifications to encourage emotional connection
The service is currently offered free of charge, but may include premium features in the future. No public content posting is available within the app.
By using the app, you agree to:
Use the platform respectfully and lawfully
Not send or upload any content that is hateful, violent, abusive, harassing, pornographic, defamatory, discriminatory, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate
Not impersonate others or send messages pretending to be someone else
Not share unauthorized photos or personal information of third parties
Not use Lightr to promote a product, service, political ideology, or for mass messaging
Not exploit bugs, reverse-engineer, overload, or attempt to compromise the security of the platform
Any misuse may lead to immediate account suspension or termination, and legal action may be taken if necessary.
1) Acceptance of Terms (Required for UGC)
To access any feature that creates, sends, reacts to, or displays user-generated content (“UGC”), you must accept these Terms of Use (EULA) in-app. By proceeding, you confirm you have read and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the UGC features.
2) Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content & Abusive Users
Lightr maintains no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, violent, pornographic/sexually explicit, exploitative, discriminatory, defamatory, invasive of privacy, spammy, deceptive, or otherwise inappropriate is prohibited. Users who engage in such behavior may have content removed and accounts blocked or terminated without prior notice.
3) Ownership & License
You retain ownership of your UGC (messages, reactions, images). By submitting UGC, you grant Lightr a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process and display it solely to operate the App’s private features.
4) Age & Eligibility
Lightr is for users 13+. If required by local law, under-13 users need verifiable parental consent. We may restrict or terminate access if an account does not meet age requirements.
5) Content Filtering & Moderation
Lightr uses a combination of automatic filters (e.g., keyword/image signals) and human review to detect and deter objectionable content. UGC may be held, hidden, or removed while under review. We may adjust filters over time to improve safety.
6) In-App Reporting (Flagging) & Response Times
You can report content or a user directly within the app from any message, profile, or interaction (look for “Report”). Reports are reviewed promptly (typically within 24–72 hours) and appropriate action is taken (content removal, warnings, account restrictions or termination). We will notify you when feasible after action is taken.
7) Block / Mute Controls for Users
You can block or mute other accounts in-app at any time. Blocking hides that user’s content and prevents further contact. We may also proactively block or suspend accounts involved in violations.
8) Enforcement & Repeat Violations
We may remove content, limit features, suspend, or terminate accounts for any breach of these Terms, repeated violations, or severe single violations. We may escalate to law enforcement where required by law or where there is risk of harm.
9) Appeals
If you believe enforcement was made in error, contact support@lightr.today with details. We will review appeals in good faith.
10) Contact Information
For questions or to report issues outside the app, contact support@lightr.today. (You can also use the in-app “Report” feature from any item.)
11) Transparency & Updates
We publish these community standards within our Terms and may update them. Material changes will be communicated in-app; continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.
12) Privacy & Data
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law (e.g., GDPR). Safety tooling may process UGC for moderation. See our Privacy section for your rights and choices.
Lightr complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and is committed to protecting your privacy.
